A Descent into the Maelstrom

Yesterday, Monday, was the bicentennial celebration of Edgar Allan Poe's birthday. Not that I will paint myself in the gloom that most Poe fans (or so I like to think) like to live in, but I will say that Poe was of great influence to me as a child.

Yes.

As a child, somewhere in junior high or earlier, I actively saved my money to purchase his works all gathered in one book. I still have that book, and although I will admit I have not read every verse within those pages, I hold that book near and dear to me. 200 years. Quite a bit. For humours sake, I must add that I also adore the transcendentalists, Thoreau the most. I'd say a terrific combination for an interesting childhood. Don't consider me an expert for finding them at such a young age, I merely ran through their fields, and like the spurs that grew back home, some ideas stuck with me more than others. Some ideas still ring in my mind as fresh as that first prick that catches you off guard.

What a great feeling.

How do you like the changes to my site? I hope you find them acceptable. I will continue on, merrily, or as near as possible to a cheery disposition. I made cinnamon rolls yesterday (not in celebration of Poe's birthday, although perhaps inherently I did?) and was rather proud of the outcome. Just thought I'd tell you.

That is all.

continued

And we begin again. I'm playing around with the image gallery, I'd like your opinion on the matter. I have also started my little flower piece, it should be interesting and hopefully you enjoy it as much as I do. I'm still tinkering with the best way to navigate the works, but I'll get it working soon enough. Anyhow, I'll be uploading one 'page' a week by Friday mornings. Just one a week? Yes. But I'll be uploading short pieces in between, not so much as filler but just for kicks. Anything to keep myself busy and to play around with.

More on the way, so keep coming back, thanks.
