ice rain

We're in that moment of the year where I feel it could be mistaken for Fall. You only have to notice that the leaves are sprouting, not wilting, the plants are breaking through, not hiding, and that we are all finding our voices again, man and animal alike.

I enjoy a morning bird song.

But this ice rain sure can make me mistake the future to be drab and dreary again rather than the sunny warmth it is meant to be.

Well. Who is to say that, what it is, is what it will be?

Prepare for amusements, I will surely provide!

In other news:

Headed out to Water Street last night. Caught a group I never heard of before: Man Without Wax and was thoroughly impressed and enjoyed the show they put on. May their travels keep them safe and warm. The big dog at the show, though, was Mason Proper. We caught them in late November of last year, merely a mid-opening act at the Bugjar, and was not only impressed, but mesmerized and frankly blown away by their performance. It was not just a band playing their music, they were putting on a very involved show. Excellent performers who I feel love their craft. Artists, we could say, but that word is thrown about too often so I would call them auteurs.

And in just under 6 months, here we are - at a show where Mason Proper is headlining. With a bigger crowd that is definitely responding to their performance. The band sure did seem to enjoy the growth of support that Rochester is showing them. I hope next time that they can fill the larger venue at Water Street.

In other words - I highly suggest you check them out and support them.

Do it.
